Pre-build reality check for AI coding agents. Scans GitHub, Hacker News, npm, PyPI, Product Hunt, and Stack Overflow to check if your startup idea already exists before you start building.

How it works

1. Describe your idea in plain English (e.g., "a CLI tool that converts Figma designs to React components")
2. The idea_check tool scans 6 databases in parallel
3. Get a 0–100 reality score with trend direction, top competitors, and AI-generated pivot suggestions

Output

• reality_signal: 0-100 score indicating how saturated the market is
• trend: accelerating/stable/declining market momentum
• market_momentum: 0-100 score for trend strength
• duplicate_likelihood: high/medium/low assessment
• evidence: detailed counts from each source (GitHub repos/stars, HN mentions, npm/PyPI packages, Product Hunt products, Stack Overflow questions)
• top_similars: leading competitors with stars and descriptions
• pivot_hints: AI-generated suggestions for differentiation

Modes

• quick (default): GitHub + Hacker News only, < 3 seconds
• deep: all 6 sources for comprehensive competitive analysis

Optional Configuration

• GITHUB_TOKEN: increases GitHub API rate limits
• PRODUCTHUNT_TOKEN: enables Product Hunt search in deep mode
